Some things you just have to ‘write home about’ and some things you just have to blog about and today it is Smoked Salmon from Salmontini. Having been to the International Fine Food Festival at Meydan last week, I met the guys from Salmontini on their stall. Their salmon is imported from Scotland and smoked locally for global distribution. After tasting a piece I was immediately captivated, so much so I had to buy a packet to take home and use it for inspiration for some great food photography shots.
Salmontini have a restaurant in Mall of The Emirates although at the time of writhing this, it was under renovation so I will have to wait a while before I visit. I was assured that you can buy the Smoked Salmon from the restaurant but will be good when it hits the shops, which I am sure will be some time soon.
So what better way to show off the taste of Smoked Salmon from Salmontini than to do a food photography shoot and post the photos here on my photoblog. My favorite way to eat smoked salmon is on brown bread covered with a generous helping of freshly ground black pepper and a squeeze of lemon juice. I couldn’t picture brown bread with my concept for the shoot so I had to improvise with other ingredients.
