A Walk Along Dubai Creek

With the summer heat gone, I took the chance to get out and take a walk along Dubai Creek, Deira side, to find a magical area of old Dubai that maybe sometimes is overlooked by tourists and forgotten by residents. Parking close to the Al Seef station in Bur Dubai and hopping on the Water Taxi to reach Al Sabkha station where one immediately finds an array of traditional wooden dhows being loaded with boxes to ship off to Iran. Close by is the aromatic Dubai Spice Souq and a multitude of shops offering a variety goods and produce.

Along the creek, past the dhows, through the Spice Souq and around the shops one finds a bustle of workers, traders, laborers as well as tourists from a variety of countries. So the ideal place for a photographer to capture the vibe of the street and character of the people found there.
