Amber Fort

Another selection of photos from our 1996 visit to Jaipur in Rajasthan, India. These photos are of the Amber Fort, located around 11 km from Jaipur. The Amber Fort is one of the most popular tourist attractions around Jaipur and not surprisingly as it is located high on a hill overlooking the town and Maota Lake with impressive views if you are looking from below or from the fort itself, over the surrounding landscape.

The following photographs from 1996 don’t really do true justice to the impressive structure of The Amber Fort, so I really should plan to return and do a proper job. Hopefully they will be enough to inspire others to visit none the less. The film negatives were scanned and retouched in Photoshop.

Monkeys are quite common in India and The Amber Fort is no exception.
