Bac Ha Market of the mountainous Lao Cai province North West Vietnam, was to be our last visit before heading back to catch an overnight train to Hanoi. After an 80km bus ride from Sa Pa along winding roads and unforgiving hairpin bends we reached the village of Bac Ha.
Every Sunday people from surrounding villages flock to the Bac Ha Market which is the largest and most colorful in the area. We were told that some people walk several hours to reach the market to trade and barter food, livestock and clothes. It was nice to witness the buzz of the people sitting in groups eating and chatting.
