Piazza di Trevi

20 years ago during a trip to Rome I visited the Piazza di Trevi to see the famous Fontana di Trevi or Trevi Fountain. Piazza di Trevi is a magical almost fairytale location hidden in small side streets and if you are not careful you could miss it. The famous fountain, built in 1732, dominates the whole square and has been used as a setting in may movies. The most well-known being ‘La Dolce Vita’ where Anita Ekberg, as Sylvia, is mesmerised by the beauty of the fountain and takes a paddle along with Marcello Mastroianni who plays Marcello Rubini.
