After an over night train from Hanoi to Lao Chai a bus met us at the railway station to take us on a long drive up windy roads into the Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range to reach the remote village of Sa Pa. Although the scenery was breathtaking ,with kilometer after kilometer of green soaked mountains covered in staggered rice fields, the weather was not in our favor for photos. Cloudy skies and mist removed any chance of decent photos covering the full view of the landscape.
The classic ‘boy on a buffalo’ photo taken from the edge of a rice filed where I had to balance precariously on a mud pile that was no wider than a shoe box. I am sure that National Geographic would love to publish these photos in a future edition of their magazine.
